Meet Cookhie - Senior Business Consultant - Singapore, with SimCorp since March 2000

I am a senior business consultant with focus on project management of SimCorp Dimension implementations, and I am currently based in Singapore. I have a degree in civil engineering – a curriculum including mathematics, which definitely helps when working with financial software.

I quickly established a good social network in the company, which made it easier in the beginning. I was almost fresh out of university when I joined SimCorp. I was looking for an established company that could offer different roles and career opportunities, as I was still exploring what I wanted to do and my own talent. SimCorp turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

How has your career development in SimCorp been?

I feel lucky to have tried so many different roles in my work - from customer services to account management to implementation to project management! There are still other areas of business, such as sales and marketing, that I would like to experience. Furthermore, I have worked at offices in Stockholm, Sydney and now in Singapore, which has given an international exposure to my career.

I have plenty of opportunities to work with different aspects of the business, everything from customer support and development to management and sales in a global environment, and you are given the responsibilities and freedom to explore your strengths. That is absolutely the best thing about working here.

How is the work-life balance?

The nature of my job requires travels and periods of intensive work, usually in connection with a project completion. I feel SimCorp understands and provides what is necessary to maintain a healthy balance in such situations. But more importantly, it is up to me to manage my own time and to ask for the support that I need to be able to do a good job with limited impact on my private life.

What do you think of the international

element in your daily work?

Singapore is a financial hub for countries in Southeast Asia. This is reflected in my daily job where I interact with customers located in various countries in this region as well as Australia and New Zealand. This is definitely one of the most exciting parts of my job to work with people with different nationalities and cultural background.
